AC&M Group Wins BIG at American Advertising Awards in Charlotte with TeleBOvela

This year’s American Advertising Awards in Charlotte, formerly the ADDYs and the advertising industry’s largest competition, has recognized our recent initiatives for Bojangles’, which features a series of telenovela style videos. TeleBOvela: El Sabor de la Pasión adds passion and suspense to the lives of Bojangles’ savory food items.

Our TeleBOvela was honored in the following categories:

    • Silver: Online/Interactive – Social Media Campaign
    • Silver: Film, Video and Sound – Radio Advertising: Regional/National
    • Gold: Film, Video and Sound – Online Film, Video, & Sound: Webisode Series
    • And to top it off, from all the campaigns/elements entered, the judges selected our campaign as their favorite and recognized TeleBOvela with a Judges Choice award.


In the sea of messages targeting Hispanics, we wanted to find an authentic way to connect with the booming bilingual and bicultural Hispanic market in a way that was relevant to the Bojangles’ brand. The TeleBOvela series entertains and engages while showcasing delicious food to our tech-savvy Hispanic consumers in a funny way that we can relate to. We all love telenovelas. We are happy to have a partner in Bojangles’ that believes in finding creative and unique ways in engaging consumers. They understand that thinking outside of the box while remaining authentic is the most honest way to communicate,” said Manolo Guajardo, Creative Director, AC&M Group.

Our main goal was to engage with the Hispanic consumer in a funny and culturally-relevant way through a telenovela. However, you don’t have to be Hispanic to enjoy a good telenovela or fresh and flavorful menu options from Bojangles’.

The TeleBOvela has been featured in webisodes, or short web videos, across Facebook, YouTube and Pandora. Full episodes are available on the Bojangles’ YouTube channel. You can learn more about #TeleBOvela on our blog.

In addition, TeleBOvela has also been recognized by the AVA Digital Awards with a Gold award for Digital Video Creation.
