30 Mar Colores de Latinoamérica Brings Culture & Color to Life
In continuation of its new monthly mini series, Colores de Latinoamérica, AC&M and Sherwin-Williams Latino are continuously creating one-of-a-kind figures, from Sherwin-Williams color chips, that pair iconic articles of Latin American Culture with incredibly radiant Sherwin-Williams colors.
El Vejigante del Carnaval de Puerto Rico.
The vejigante is a colorful character that is a blend of Puerto Rico’s African, Spanish, and Caribbean influences and a key figure in several of the island’s annual celebrations, particularly Ponce’s Carnival and Loiza’s Santiago Apóstol Fiesta.
Inspired by this iconic figurine, we chose vibrant color combinations such as SW 6869 Stop, SW 6903 Cheerful and SW 6892 Carnival to bring el vejigante to life right before your eyes.
La Chiva- Bus Colombiano
Traditionally, chivas have been used in rural zones of both Colombia and Ecuador to carry produce, animals, plants, travelers, family members and anything else that needed to be brought somewhere else. The trucks are usually painted bright colors (often the red, blue and yellow of the Colombian flag) and given unique names by their drivers, which are painted on the front above the driver.
Inspired by “La Chiva Colombiana,” this figurine combines colors such as SW 6958 Dynamic Blue, SW 6545 Majestic Purple and SW 6920 Center Stage to transport your color ideas to the next level.
