Main talking points

• Chelsea remain the only unbeaten team and are five points clear at the top after a tempestuous derby win against Arsenal, in which Arsene Wenger pushed Jose Mourinho in a touchline clash.
• Diego Costa now has nine goals in seven games for Chelsea, Falcao opened his account for Man United, but Mario Balotelli is still looking for his first league goal for Liverpool.
• Newcastle and Burnley are the only two teams without a win. Newcastle fans are protesting at games calling for Manager Alan Pardew to be sacked.

Main talking points

• Ronaldo. Ronaldo. Ronaldo. The man is breaking records for fun. Against Bilbao he scored his third hat trick in four games, and his 22nd hat trick in La Liga, which ties the record. His 2.17 goals-per-game this season is better than 91 of the 97 other teams in Europe’s top five leagues.
• Barcelona have broken a La Liga record by not conceding a goal in their first seven games.
• Defending champions Atletico Madrid were taken apart by Valencia, falling 3-0 down after 13 minutes.

• Schalke, sitting in 11th in the table, have sacked coach Jens Keller and replaced him with former Chelsea coach Roberto Di Matteo.
• Hamburg stun Dortmund for their first win of the season. Dortmund sit in 13th place with just two wins from their first seven games.

Main talking points

• Juventus maintained their perfect start with a highly controversial win over Roma, who had also won their first five games. There were three penalties in the game, two for Juve, and the referee has been heavily criticized.
• After the Juve game, Roma captain Francesco Totti didn’t hold back as he very strongly insinuated that Juventus are favored by all officials in Serie A and that Roma had been cheated out of a result.
• Juventus Director and former player Pavel Nedved has responded to Totti, claiming that as a big club Juventus are always on the wrong end of decisions. This war-of-words looks set to continue, with the match-fixing scandal that saw Juventus stripped of two titles and demoted still fresh in the memory of all Italian football fans.

• PSG continue their stuttering start to the season. They conceded a last-minute equaliser to Monaco, meaning they have drawn six of their nine league games so far.
• Marseille’s impressive start under Marcelo Bielsa goes on, Gignac scored in the 93rd minute to move them five points clear at the top.
